Dancing on Rooftop

Juniors
7 - 11 year olds

Our theatre groups are not, and will never be about creating the next star of stage and screen. At Purple Pineapple we are passionate about turning children into confident and creative communicators. To do this we encourage them to let their imaginations flow.

In our groups, we look at a range of topics and ideas and create drama inspired by them. We help our participants understand how to communicate ideas and emotions effectively, looking at how we want the audience to feel.

For children taking their first steps into theatre we focus on teaching them skills about teamwork and communicating confidently in front of others. We also look at different theatre skills and techniques to help them learn different approaches to language and performance.

We understand not every child will be comfortable performing at the start, and in some cases will never be, so we offer all children opportunities to learn a variety of theatre crafts as well as performing.

These are:

  • Prop Making

  • Set Design/ Painting

  • Costume Design

  • Script Writing

  • Directing

When children progress into the older group they will also have the opportunity to learn about and operate our lighting and sound equipment.

Children will have the opportunity to get involved in two performances and also on our YouTube Channel

But most of all, we have fun. We laugh together, play together and create together.

- It sounds super cheesy, but that is what it is!!!
